Program Goals:

  • To develop an awareness of the wonder of learning;

  • To develop an awareness of the wonders of God's creation;

  • To assist young children in developing positive self-esteem;

  • To encourage social and emotional growth;

  • To foster independence and self-confidence;

  • To encourage group cooperation and the development of appropriate social behavior

  • To provide learning opportunities through exploration and discovery;

  • To develop the ability for effective communication through listening and speaking;

  • To nurture creativity and self-expression.

Daily Schedule:

  • Opening Circle--A teacher-guided group gathering involving songs, finger plays, and stories. We recite the Pledge of Allegiance, talk about our calendar, and the weather. We read a theme related book and introduce the day's learning centers.

  • Learning Centers--Children rotate through a variety of hands-on centers. These small group centers encourage discovery, problem-solving, and foster development at an individual pace.
  • Free Play--Various play activities are set-up throughout the classroom to encourage cooperative play, enhance social skills, and increase self-esteem.
  • Snack--We use the restroom, if necessary, and always wash hands before snack. Following grace, a nutritious snack, including 100% fruit juice is served daily.
  • Active Play--Group activities involving gross motor skills give the children an opportunity to engage in fun, healthy exercise.
  • Bible Story Time--A Bible story is shared with the children. Christian values are discussed and a song of praise is sung.
  • Dismissal--Children are dismissed to their designated adult.

A one-hour orientation session is held the week before Labor Day with regular classes beginning the week following Labor Day and running until the middle of May. Our school calendar follows School District #54 regarding days off and holidays. Tuition fees are paid monthly but are based on an annual fee. The first month's payment is due July 1st. All other tuition is due the first day of the preceding month. There is a $50 non-refundable registration fee.

Registration:

   Registration usually begins in February for the up-coming school year. We follow a tiered registration process for current families, former families, alumni, church members, and the general public. Please call our director/teacher, Mrs. Woodard, (815-942-0809) with any questions.
